A Favorite Photo: 3 Generations

When my niece was out here visiting this summer we had a great time going over to see my Grandma (and her Great Grandma)!

It's funny how the three of us are so similar. We are all creative and really enjoy "doing" and "making." I wish that we all lived close enough to be able to do that sort of thing together more...but hey, I'll take the time that we do have together.  ;)

Here's a scrapbook page I did with one of the many photos we took that day:

BLOG Erin Bassett - Studio Calico - Simple Scrapper - FavoritePhoto

I used one of the August Simple Scrapper sketch for it along with a Studio Calico kit and a couple of other doo-dads I had handy.  So often my layouts use whatever is out on my desk already...I guess I'm either too lazy to dig through stuff or I'm inspired by seeing it...or maybe both LOL.

The "a favorite photo" is a Silhouette shape...I just ungrouped it and cut it out in different cardstocks (and inked the edges of the blue letters) and then adhered it to my page.

A Scrapbook Layout For PageMaps: A Fairytale Day

Erin Bassett - Aug 2011 Page Maps - ImaginisceI was so happy when Becky asked me to create a layout for the August edition of PageMaps! And then when she sent me the sketch and it was an 8.5 x 11 I was even more thrilled...I haven't done that size in a long time. Way too long to be exact!

You can check out all of the August PageMaps sketches and sample layouts here

I used a variety of old vintage Imaginisce papers and embellishments for this layout. That's one of the things I love about Imaginisce is that the lines coordinate with themselves over the years and that even completely unrelated themes go well together.

I also added some extra sparkle to the title with my Stardust pen as you maybe able to see in the shot below.
Erin Bassett - Aug 2011 Page Maps - ImaginisceI also used one of my all time favorite Imaginisce stamps...the cute camera stamp!  I think the "Good Times" stamp is from Stampin' Up, but I may be mistaken.

The puffie heart & crown are made by KI Memories....perfect for this layout!  And to make the doiliy heart pink I used some Glimmer Mist.

Two Scrapbook Pages: Chickadee & The LA Zoo

Normally I don't add multiple layouts to one blog post...but since I've been meaning to post these for awhile now, I'm going to!  I used the Simple Scrapper July sketches for both of them.

I love this photo of my niece!  Super cute!

BLOG - Erin Bassett - American Crafts - Simple Scrapper Sketch

I used a lot of American Crafts and Studio Calico stuff on this layout.  I love the fresh & fun feel it has!  I added a bit of paint and doodling to the edges of the photo too.

And more of the Imaginisce i-rock heart studs!!  I told you, I use them on everything!!  I put them inside a border ("quatrefoil borders") I cut out with my Silhouette.

Ok, and here's the other layout I did.  We took my other niece to the LA Zoo and here's just some of the pics from there.  -Such a fun day!
Erin Bassett - BoBunny - Zoology - LO - LA ZooI think just about everything on this layout is from the BoBunny Zoology line...well, except the twine and mini paperclip.

Imaginisce's "Happy Harvest" Release

This week Imaginisce releases the new Happy Harvest collection (make sure you check out the Imaginisce blog for giveaways!)...and here's a couple of projects I made with it...

This layout is for my Mom...it's her driveway in the fall.  So pretty!

I used this sketch to make it.  I like the clean graphic style of it.

Erin Bassett - Imaginisce - Home

To create "Home" I just used my Silhouette Studio and the Biondi font and had my Silhouette cut it out of the same color of Bazzill cardstock I'm using for my background. Then I just adhered it right to my page.

I popped up my photo and the flag banner (Silhouette shape: "2 layer banner border") with foam adhesive and added some gold i-rock studs to the green die cut (Silhouette shape: "vintage flower stem") and up by the owl.

And then I made this card...

Erin Bassett - Imaginisce - Fall CardThose canvas stickers are so fun! I removed the sticker part by just picking at it until I just had the canvas...then I frayed the edges and sewed it to the front of the card.

I also embossed the orange patterned paper with my Cuttlebug "D'ving Swirl" folder and then used my favorite Powder Puff chalk ink to emphasise the swirls.

Scrapbooking outside my element!

Having only nieces I tend to scrapbook girly things most of the time, so when I was assigned this BoBunny line for one of my design team projects at Remember When I was a bit outside my element and begged my friend Dana for pics of her adorable son!

I used another one of the March sketched from Simple Scrapper to make this and had fun jazzing up the patterned background paper with some of the white metal i-rock studs.

I made those epoxy doo-dads with my Epiphany Crafts tool and used the "Graphically Speaking" Cricut cartridge (which is less then $20 here!!) to cut out that star border.
