Making a Mixed Media Card (with video)
Here's a quick card I made...
I used up a few odds and ends I've had laying around. Love doing that.
Here's the video of how I created it...enjoy!

When I sent out a survey to my email subscribers recently they overwhelmingly said that they wanted more videos...so your wish is granted. I'm going to try to film as I work and share those with you along with other technique videos. Please give me feedback! Do you want the whooooooole thing like I did with the video below? Or do you prefer it to be shorter in length, with minor parts that are chopped out? I'm thinking of not talking so much too...maybe no talking, but add in visual notes? Is there any other kind suggestions and preferences you have? -Speak, I'm listening. :)
Ok, here's the finished page...
I came across that quote online and just had to use it! I also used the new Detailz Doilies dies with nice, thick Letterpress paper for each of the flower centers because the cool thing with these dies is that when you run it through your die-cut machine they get cut out and embossed at the same time. Love that! It works really good with the Letterpress paper, but you can use cardstock or patterned paper too, you just need to change up the "sandwich" your layer up before running it through the machine, here's how.
The markers I used are Faber-Castell PITT® Artist Pen and Stamper’s Big Brush Pens. They are great to use directly onto the page or you can use them as a watercolor...both of which you'll see in the video. And I also used some Dylusions and Adirondack spray inks.
Speaking of videos...here it is...don't forget to give me some feedback! Thanks!

It's no secret, I love washi tape!
That's why I'm really excited about this new product that Lifestyle Crafts just came out with called "Shape 'N Tape"...it's like sheets of washi paper...6" x 12" sheets!! Woo-hoo, can you say die-cut?!
I made a quick Vine app video about it....if you look me up over there you can see it, just search for "ErinBassett" or watch it from your computer here.
And here's a quick follow up video for those of you who are not on the Vine app....

How are you doing? Are you ready to move on towards Valentine's Day? Or are you still getting over the holidays? I'm a bit of both! I've taken down our Christmas decor...well, except for the outside lights. I actually like the extra light they give when I take the dogs out at night so now I'm trying to figure out what extra lighting to put up so I can see out there once I take them down. Any ideas for renters?
Well, it's not a secret that Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I was really happy to get to work with some of the new Love Notes dies from Lifestyle Crafts...you have to go check them out!!! There are so many cute ones it's hard to decide! {Remember you get 20% off when you use coupon code: "ERIN"...woo-hoo!}
Today I'm sharing with you a card I made with the Heart Insert Die.
To make it I just ran the die and a piece of older Crate Paper Valentine's paper through my die-cut machine, the Epic 6. (All of the Lifestyle Crafts dies work in the leading die-cut machines.)
Next I removed it from the machine and trimmed my paper down fit on my card. Next I die-cut the arrow die that comes with the Heart Box set, and wove it through the hearts on the piece I die-cut previously.
Lastly I added a few more cute embellishments, also from Crate Paper.
Whew, one Valentine's Day card done...a few more to go!
I have attempted to do December Daily in the past, and quite frankly I was just overwhelmed by it on top of the holidays that I never finished it. So this year I decided that I was going to just do an Instagram photo challenge for December Daily this year...but then at the last minute I decided to actually print the photos as I go & put them into a simple mini album.
So I pulled out my old vintage Christmas scrapbooking supplies and decide that I'd only use what I already have on hand. I also grabbed a Maya Road chipboard book from my stash and got started.
Supplies: Patterned Paper - The Girl's Paperie; Doily Die-Cut - Lifestyle Crafts; Mister Huey's Calico Shine Spray Ink; Stickers - Echo Park; "the blessings of" stamp - Technique Tuesday
Here's December 1st's pages:
Supplies: Patterned Paper - The Girl's Paperie, Echo Park, Stampin Up; Stickers - Echo Park; chipboard circle - Lily Bee; brad
Oh, and I happened to find these mini cookie-cutters embellishments in my stash too...had to dangle them from some twine down the spine.
Do you do any type of daily december scrapbooking? I'd love to take a peek at it, leave me a link in the comments & I'll stop by!
