Magnetic Back-To-School Photo Board

Back To School Photo Board_edited

Taking back to school photos is a big deal for us. We love to look back through the years to see how much the kids have grown!  Well, this year I got smart and created a magnetic photo prop so I can easily switch out the grade and if it's for the first day of school or the last. No more last minute scramble to get things together for a photo!

You can watch this video on how it all came together:

Step 1 - Use ScanNCutCanvas to trace the first printable (or print it and then scan it in) and then cut it out on vinyl.

Make sure you do a test cut first so you only cut through the vinyl and not through the backing.

Step 2 -Weed out the vinyl design and then use a piece of the gridded transfer sheet to transfer the letters onto the metal board.

Step 3 - Print design onto the printable magnetic sheets and then scan it into the ScanNCut machine using Scan To Cut Data.

Make sure you use the color recognition feature for great scanning of color or black and white images.

Once scanned, choose to cut around the outside and the inside of the letters. Perform a test cut and then have the machine cut out the design.

Step 4 - Arrange the magnetic pieces as desired onto the metal board and then store the unused ones on the backside of the board.

I hope this simplifies your back to school photo taking as much as it has ours!

Happy scanning!
