A Sneak Peek...

Here's a few of the fabrics I've been working on creating lately.  I can't wait to use them in my online workshop at 21 Secrets of Art Journaling!  I'll be teaching about using mixed media techniques on fabrics and other accessories so you can wear your art.  So fun!  {Click HERE for more info.)

Also in other news, have you seen the brand new hope{full} line from Lisa Leonard Designs?

Each piece from the hope{full} collection is fair trade and sustainable, giving work to Ecuadorian women and building families and communities. Additionally, with the sale of each piece from the hope{full} collection, Lisa Leonard Designs will donate a portion of the proceeds back to Jungle Kids. Each piece sold will buy a school lunch for a child in need!

There are beautiful scarves, bracelets, earrings and necklaces...I'm seriously in L.O.V.E!!

Crocheted Slouchy Hat

I made this awhile ago, and am just now getting around to sharing it with you...I've been really bad like that lately!

Crochet Hat1My Mom had actually been creating a hat from this pattern when she ran into an issue, so I grabbed this awesome yarn, picked up my hook & got going so I could trouble shoot it.  I was planning on just frogging it (ripping it out) after I was done, but I really like how it turned out so it's now a keeper!

Starlight- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn

You probably can't tell from the photo of the finished hat, but I used the "Starlight" Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn for this...LOVE it! It has just the perfect amount of shimmery gold strands running through it's creamy softness.

Here's some other angled shots I took with my cell phone when I was trying to decide if I would frog it or not.

Fabric Painting & Crochet Headbands

While I may not be posting a lot right now, it doesn't mean I haven't been creating a lot. I've been working on a lot of surface designs for my Altered Art Attire online workshop (aka: using mixed media on fabric to make accessories & other fun stuff) and also I've been crocheting up a storm at night when I can.

If you're curious about my workshop (or the rest of my life) you can follow me on Instagram for a peeks at some of what I'm up to like this piece of fabric I started creating...

So here are some quick headbands I made using the Jenna Headband pattern.

I love that there's room for a button at the fact, on the green one I ended up making it a wee bit too long because I was too lazy to get up and grab a ruler and so I added two buttons, and now it's adjustable!

Valentine's Day Mug Swap (#vdaymugswap)

A few weeks ago I saw that Caroline (Sew Caroline) and Alissa (Rags to Stitches) were hosting a Valentine's Day Mug Swap...well of course I wanted in on that! Fun, fun! So I was matched up with Paulina (Austenland Accessories) and this is what I sent her....

And then she totally spoiled me and sent me this...

Cool, eh?!

It's funny because our tastes are pretty different...she's shabby chic and I'm bold colors & graphic designs...and yet I think we did a pretty awesome job at getting each other a little something to brighten up the day.

"Love" Shadow Box & A Scrapbook Page

Hi everyone, I'm guest blogging today over on the Colorbök blog and sharing a couple of projects I created with the Cloud 9 "Fiesta" collection.

First up is this 5" x 7" shadow box.

Love Box

I made the frame out of some coordinating cardstock that I had cut out using my Silhouette and. Once I put the frame together I then punched out the die-cut alphabet, sanded the edges, and then added some faux stitches with a pen. I popped up the letters with some foam adhesive to give them some dimension.

Oh, and you see that "v" used to be an "x"!  Trimmed down it's the perfect size to float above the tail of the "L".

And of course I had to use one of the fabric flowers and the adorable heart button as an embellishment!

Next I created a scrapbook layout about our puppy, Willow. I really like the offset look of the glittered patterned paper I used for the background.

I added the one of the die-cut papers, trimming it to fit, and sewed it to the page.

I also added some messy stitches to the fabric stickers as well.

So that's my projects!  I'd love to see what YOU have done with this collection.  Leave a comment below with a link to your projects so we can all check them out!
