Simple Cards

I love simple cards.  They are actually mailable, unlike some of the five-pound cards you see around these days...which means that I will actually use them.  :)

Here's a couple of ones I made for the release of the new Big Top dies from Lifestyle Crafts

Erin Bassett - Bday Party Card - Simple Stories1
I used one of Simple Stories birthday lines for this so it was quick to make since it all coordinated so well.  The pennants die really look great popped up with the brown Imagnisce adhesive foam....it totally disappears behind them.

I got the idea for this next card from a piece of art that was at Target.

Erin Bassett - ABC I heart you Card
I love the look of the letters on the ring-master die! For the red letters and heart I used red felted paper.  It looks really neat in real life.

Hoot! Wise Owl Mixed Media Project

I'm excited to share my first Basically Bare project with you guys!  It's this little owl...

BLOG - Erin Bassett - Owl Wall Decor

I used the owl Stack-a-Bellies to make it, you can read about how I did it here on the Basically Bare Blog...I'd love if you could leave a comment over there too!

Here's some close-ups:

I used a Zig pen to draw the faux stitching on the embroidery hoop and make the little "wise" tag.  Thank goodness my girlfriend helped me figure out what word to put on it!!

You recognise that heart?  Yep, it's this one!  I almost used it on the necklace.  Oh and that safety pin...well it used to be silver...I painted it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze.  It took two coats, here's how the first coat looked:

DIY Embroidered Heart Necklace

I did this video for Imaginisce recently...check it out!

And here is one of the pieces of jewelry I made with the Magni-Top necklace for the video. It's my favorite piece of jewelry I did...and because it's magnetic I can just take it apart and put a new magnetic piece on!

Blog - Erin Bassett - Imaginisce Magnetic Necklace - Embroidered Heart

I started off by quickly tracing an Imaginisce Magnet Daddy onto my fabric with a Zig disappearing ink pen and then  I drew a heart into the center of the circle as you saw on this post.  Then I just cut it out leaving about a half an inch around the circle I drew and made a button out of it with my iTop.  Then I took some of the plastic washers that separate the magnets that come in the pack and wrapped the same variegated embroider floss around each of them that I used to embroider the heart...it's a good TV watching activity!  I just put the washers onto the chain along with the embroidered Magnet Daddy and I was done!
