My Book Planner Giveaway & Coupon Code

Good news! My Book Planner will be giving away a 6" x 8" 2012 Planner this week here on my blog!

The planners are really great to use as a way to keep your family organized, however there is so much more you can do with them!!

If you remember, this past year I used one to make a Daily Gratitude Journal.  It's great now looking back over it and seeing all the blessings from this past year.  It's something I'll treasure for a long time to come.

There's a lot of other things you can do with them too since there's spots for appointments/journaling and photos. (Check out their gallery for more ideas.)  I think it's a great option for keeping track of memories through out the year, but it would also be cool just to use it as your calendar for staying on track!

Also, for you lucky readers who are thinking about holiday's a coupon code to get one at 50% off!! – expires 12/18/2011.  Coupon code: EBMB5

Scrapbooking the fun stuff!

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS December - Toms

Remember when my girlfriends and I went to the TOMS Shoes event where our shoes got artsy?  Well I saw the photos on my phone a couple of weeks ago and printed them out with my Selphy can do multiple photos on one 4" x 6" piece of photo paper, which I love!  It makes it really easy to just print and scrap without having to tweek the photos in Photoshop first.

So once I saw the Simple Scrapper sketch for this month I knew it would be a great photo to use for it.

I love our shoes.  :)

I also did this layout using another Simple Scrapper sketch and photos I took during Thanksgiving when my niece was out here visiting.  She was dying to bake Christmas cookies together...which of course I was totally up for doing!  We hadn't baked cookies together since she was about 2 yrs. old!!  It was fun!

Dream Big!

Erin Bassett - Art Journal - Dream Big1

Here's another page from my art journal.

{Click on photo to enlarge it}

I started off by applying clear gesso (one of my current favorite things) over the entire page of book text and then sketching out my words.  I then painted in the background and "BIG" and then used my ZIG Millennium pen to write "dream" and outline "BIG".  I used stamps for the "don't stop!!!" and then spattered the whole page with paint.

Really for me the most important part of this journaling page is the "don't stop!!!"  Sometimes it takes a loooooong time and a lot of work for dreams to happen, but the important part is not to give up!

Erin Bassett - Art Journal - Dream Big

Now, most of you know that I've been helping Warner Brother's promote voting for 2 Broke Girls in The People’s Choice Awards of 2012. In 2 Broke Girls they realize that dreams may come true through an honest day’s work. Max and Caroline’s dream is opening their own cupcake business...and that got me thinking about my own dreams...ones that I'm going to journal about on the page opposite this one.  I like to write my goals and dreams down.  When you later look back at them you can see how far you've come and really soak in the blessing and gratitude.

I also love I may add some of these too:

"Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."  -Thomas Alva Edison

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all."  -Dale Carnegie

Oh, and just a reminder, if you haven't voted for your favorite TV shows yet, go do it now! :)   Here's the link!

Disclosure: I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote WBTV shows nominated in the People's Choice Awards.
