Scrapbook Page: Favorite Things

Well Thanksgiving is over and now it's Christmas time.  Woo hoo!  (The stretch of time from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day is my favorite!!)  After all the cooking and baking for Turkey Day it was fun to switch gears and put up the Christmas decorations, catch up on reading my favorite blogs, and of course do a bit of crafting.

Here's a layout I made that features Lily Bee Design's "Lovely" line.  (I love this line!!!)  The page is basically a list of a couple of my new (to me) favorite things: my in-law's treadmill, a pillow, and an old sewing machine.

HOW TO: I created the hearts by collaging scraps of all of the papers onto a 5" x 7"  scrap of paper with multi medium and then let it dry.  Then I took it over to my sewing machine and zig-zagged and straight stitched all over it.  Next I cut out the hearts and inked them up.  And lastly I just stapled them onto the page.

Do you like these cute frames?  I love them too!!  I picked them up here.

Handmade Recipe Book

While playing with the Melissa Frances "Heart and Home" collection I decided that it would be great to have a dedicated place to add our favorite family recipes, so I used a Magenta "Jelly Pot" 6" x 6" chipboard album (available at Remember When) to make this recipe book.

The chipboard cover pieces are actually supposed to be reversed...but I'm a rebel and changed it up a bit.  :)  I love the look of naked chipboard, but it needed some glimmer, so I spruced it up with "Sugar Maple" Gimmer Mist.  I also added a mini rolling pin that I've had with my craft supplies for a really long time.  I gave it a coat of "Cowboy" Glimmer Glaze to give it a bit of depth and glimmer.

Of course I did inside pages's a sampling:
