Quilling Metal for Jewelry with my Cuttlebug

BLOG-Erin Bassett - Quilling Metal - Cuttlebug - NecklaceYou know how I love to make jewelry?  Well, here's my newest creation.  I made it by using my Cuttlebug and the Cuttlebug quilling kits to die cut some mental flower parts and then colored the metal with alcohol ink.  I then placed it on a pendant that I had hung beads and other doo-dads off of.  You can click here to get my whole tutorial here on the Mixology Crafts blog.

If you want to see how the quilling kits work check out my video.

It's been awhile, but I digi-scrapped!!

I used to do a lot of digital scrapbooking back in the day, and while I loved the lack of mess to clean up I really missed feeling the paper and getting my hands I compromised and became a hybrid-scrapper who did traditional scrapbooking with touches of digital.

Recently I was asked to review the My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software for Craft can read my review here {there's also a video on how the software works}.  -It was fun to digi-scrap again!!  Here's some of the 100% digital layouts I made:

A card and a scrapbook page

First let me share a couple of projects with you and then let me geek out for a bit.

Erin_Bassett-MME-CardThis is a card and scrapbook layout I made with some MME products for Remember When.  I'm digging the color combination and that Unity stamp that's on the card.

Check out the buttons...I just used clear buttons and put some Glossy Accents on them and adhered them to some of the MME paper that I had punched out to the correct size ahead of time.  Once they were dried I used a paper piercer to poke the hole out and added some thread.  Love them.

Erin_Bassett-MME Here's a layout of me and some friends at the Reflections event.  We had a blast!!  We were able to rent out a private villa with our own private pool (that we were too busy to use).  So fun!

Besides adding some of the same fun buttons on here I also added some Zva pearl butterflies and did some "crazy" machine stitching around the MME journaling block.  The stitching was one of the techniques we did in a project at Reflections so I thought it would be a fun touch to add.

Ok, now on to the geeking out.  I'm so excited that my husband bought me a PortaCube for one of my Bday gifts!  It was a total surprise too which is really hard to do.  I think he was tired of hearing me talk about how I was going to build  I had a great idea on how he should make me one out of PVC and bed sheets.  This is SO much better since it folds up & is made out of material that eliminates glare & other stuff.  I can't wait to use it!!
