Summer Daily(ish) Art Journal - Day 1

I've mentioned previously that I wanted to get back into the habit of art journaling daily. So last night I figured now is as good a time as any and grabbed my smaller Dylusions Art Journal and sketched out one of my outside succulents before my Husband and I started talking and planning out some summer stuff.

How are YOU keeping art in your summer?

Mother's Day Kids Craft

Need to squeeze in a handmade kids craft before Mother's Day?  Here's an easy one that can use up a few of those recycled jars you've been saving!

Kids Crafts - Mothers Day Flower Jar Title

Supplies Needed:

Kids Crafts - Mothers Day Flower Jar TitleAs a former pre-school teacher I've done this craft with 2yr olds on up. Before we begin I always explain to them that these are glass jars and that they may break if we aren't careful with them. I then show them how to apply the Mod Podge "glue" to a section of the jar and then place a tissue paper square on and then let them go to town doing it themselves only helping when asked.

They next day they are ready to fill with flowers or you can place a tea light (I like to use the fake ones) inside as a luminary candle holder.

Step 6 – Download the FREE mini card cut file onto your USB flash drive and open it up on your ScanNCut.

Step 7 – Load your mat with patterned paper and cut out as many of the mini cards as you desire. (You can fit 8 cards on one sheet of 12”x12” paper.)

Step 8 – Fold cards in half on perforated line and embellish as desired. I used a scalloped circle and a regular circle that fit the size of the heart stamp I was using...but you can use other designs as well.

Instructions for the Basket:

Step 1 – Open up USB #4 on your ScanNCut machine and select design #35, the bag/basket.

Step 2 – Select just the half of the design and delete it. (see video above for detailed instructions)

Add a cute tag to your gift by using the patterns that are already installed on your machine. Just cut out the tag, letters and heart and glue them adhere them down with glue and extra love.
