I know it's crazy, but as much as I hate to admit it...the holidays are coming up! I really can't believe how quick this year has flown by!!
Now, any of you familiar with knitting and crocheting may look at these photos and think "um, I thought she said she was knitting, I see a crochet hook"...well, you'd be right, kind of. You see, I'm using a Knook.
When I first saw the Knook I thought it seemed like a great idea, but I was wondering if it would actually work well and if I'd actually figure out how to use it.
Now, since I do more crocheting then knitting I did have to turn a switch on in my brain so I could remember to knit with it instead of what the muscle memory in my hands wanted to do...crochet. But the videos that are mentioned in the instruction booklet were very clear on how to do it and I picked it up really quickly. Here's my first swatch doing a garter stitch...
And here's the scarf I'm currently making along with the Knook in action. The red cord (it comes with three different colors) acts as one of your knitting needles, but is (obviously) flexible compared with traditional knitting needles so it is easy to work with.
So, a couple of TV shows later this is what I have...it's a good start. Hopefully I don't get distracted and it will get finished by Christmas time!! I'd love to make myself a hat next...or maybe a blanket.
