I love holiday weekends! This one in particular was great since it gave me a chance to do some scrapbooking as well as spending extra time with my family. I'll share some of the projects I made with you through out the week.
----------
There's a few techniques that I used on this layout.
-I made that flower out of some fabric I had on hand.
-I painted around the edge of each photo with a metallic paint and then inked them with black ink.
-I embossed with black embossing powder a Unity Stamp onto the Hambly transparency.
-I used acrylic paint underneath a rub-on to make it stand out. Although I've done that a lot previously you can see that for some reason the paint stuck to the rub-on backing & peeled up some...which I'm ok with. It also caused a happy accident since the "only" didn't rub-on well, I just used my labeler to cover it up...I like it even better.
-I used a sketch from PageMaps for this layout.
-I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the 8.5x11 piece of cardstock as well as the smaller piece under the photos. I ended up removing the thread on the 8.5x11 paper to just leave the holes.
